School was cancelled today because of ice and the MASSIVE EPIC ICEPOCALYPSE.  dun dun dun.  I’ll try and take pictures once the sun rises (yes, I still woke up at 6am even though I could sleep in as late as I wanted..)

My friend Leiah over at Ruby Bows recently did a post on Human Bloggers and included me!  She talks about how she’s a blog “skimmer” and there are just a handful of blogs that she always takes the time to read, and I’m the same.  I actually have about four of her posts kept unread in my reader because I want to actually read them & comment and not just skim.  Are any of you that way too?  And I never really knew why those few blogs grabbed my attention, but Leiah made it pretty clear – it’s cause they’re Human Bloggers.  I see them as people and I’m interested in what’s going on with them.  Very interesting to think about, and I’m so flattered to be included in her list =)

ALSO.  Remember this short post about Bubble Photography?  Well the photographer, Tom Storm, found it and answered a few of my questions!!  I was really excited.  He said that he usually takes about 100 photos before he gets the PERFECT shot.  I wouldn’t say I’m surprised (can you imagine??) but I definitely appreciate that he took the time to leave a comment.  It must be such a team effort… if I tried to take those photos I’d probably look crazy, running around after floating bubbles with my camera =)

Today is my birthday =)  And I decided that I am going to document this 23rd year in photos, since lately I have been HORRIBLE about using my camera.  Horrible.  Very bad.  So it will be like the whole 365 project (I know I’m a little behind the trend!) and I’ll post my pictures each week right here.

Anyway, that’s all =)  I’m off to celebrate my birthday with some friends I haven’t seen since EXACTLY a year ago today (hi Amanda & Brian!) and my boyfriend in New York (ooh fancy.)  Check back next week for the first photos!!

I wish I had taken more!  The days were so busy and the kids took their projects home as soon as they could, so a lot of great projects slipped away.  I had some very talented campers =)  What do you think??

I’ve already read it, and it’s awesome.  It’s full of tips for anyone looking for VERY simple ways to make some huge improvements in their photographs (aka, no expensive, fancy equipment!)  She gives some really great advice.  And it’s free =)

I really love how hit-or-miss it is (not pictured are a LOT of misses) and not knowing which pictures are going to end up with which (I was shooting two pictures per frame.)  Now that I know what they look like I’m excited to shoot some more and have a better idea of how they’re going to turn out.
