Shaving Cream Painting Tutorial

A couple weeks ago I showed you a few shaving cream paintings that I did, and last week while I was doing the project with my art campers I decided to photograph the process (which I had to do quickly since I had 20 kids anxious & excited for their turn to make their own!)
I [...]

Flower Painting Progress

My flower painting, which I have been working on off & on for a while now, is not so much about flowers anymore (see how it started here.)  Here are a couple more in progress pictures…
And where it is now…
I don’t know.  I’m not sure how I feel about it right now, I’m just kind [...]

Mural!

The big project I mentioned a couple days ago is actually the first commissioned art piece I have ever done (which is very exciting/scary) and it is painting a mural in the bedroom of an adorable little 4-year-old girl.
Shall I document the process here?  I think I just might =) even though I am very [...]

Weekend Painting

Hello hello =)
This weekend I have been hard at work painting, and have (mostly) enjoyed every minute of it.  Here is a little peek at an in-progress painting I have been working on…
And here is what it looked like a couple months ago when I first started working on it..

Haha.  I have ideas in mind [...]

Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you mothers out there reading =)  This is a painting that I made to give to my mom today.  What do you think?  I’m really trying to get more into painting lately, and I hope this summer I will have several more paintings to share.

ACEO/ATCs

A made a couple of these artist trading card… art cards, editions, & originals… things (um there should totally only be one name for them) so heeeeere they are!

They were fun to make, and I have about 5 more in progress.  When I open my Etsy shop (I know I know, I keep saying that) [...]

Paint Palette Coasters

Oh my gosh, how cute are these?!!
(source)
They’re coasters from Curbly.  Adorable.  They kind of make me want to turn into a MAJOR art teacher geek and start wearing paint palette earrings or something.  WHICH EXIST!  I just did a search and found these:

(1 2)
Those second ones are so cute and tiny.  They are from this [...]

Heart Book

Just a few pictures of a book I made:
It measures about 4.75 x 3.5 inches, so it’s little and cute, and has 32 pages.  One day when I open my Etsy shop (it’s going to happen, I promise… hopefully soon) I think I might sell something like this.  I love how small it is and [...]

Skyline Painting Tutorial

Alright party people, it’s skyline tutorial time.  As I promised in my last post, here are the step-by-step instructions for creating this painting.

Okay first of all, here are the things you will need:
Watercolor paper (or any paper thick enough so it won’t rip when wet), watercolors, paint brush, water container with water, black paint, yellow [...]

Skyline Painting Sneak Peak

Two posts in one day?!  It’s a miracle, I know.  This is a quick painting I did because we are going to be teaching it to our Saturday Art School students this Saturday.  It is REALLY easy to do, so I am going to make a step-by-step tutorial on how to do it for you [...]
