Hello Grad School

booksI started grad school last week.

I know.. when did that happen?!  It was the biggest, most spontaneous decision EVER.  I was innocently googling teaching requirements Wednesday, which led to an advising appointment on Thursday just to get some questions answered and maybe consider applying to start in the spring, and the next day I was enrolled in classes.  Found a place to live and moved in that weekend, and started classes that Monday.  Last Monday.  So here I am, in grad school, getting a teaching certificate and a masters in art education, not blogging, not working on my portfolio, not setting up an etsy shop.

But now I am so excited about teaching art.  So.  Excited.

I’m already drowning in the reading I have to do, but it’s different cause I’m actually going to USE what I’m reading about in my career.  My career… never had a clear idea of what that was going to be before.

I had to make a collage with project ideas and background info, and I did it on folk art.

Anyone else a teacher?  An art teacher?  Studying to be one?  Let me know!

Okay, back to reading…

  • Wow, congrats!! I hope grad school proves to be very rewarding for you… but don’t stop blogging! :)

  • HI Nicole,
Congrats on your grad school decision! That is RAD! I teach preschool and really enjoy getting to see the artwork of children on a daily basis. It is spiritual, beautiful, inspiring, and so intuitive! I wish you the best in your program and beyond.
    Smiles,
