Four Simple Goals

I know many of you have probably already seen that Elsie has started a Four Simple Goals challenge, and I am FINALLY jumping on the bandwagon. I’m always setting goals for myself, but for some reason I’ve had a hard time coming up with these… I don’t know if it’s because they’re public, or because they have to be completed before the new year and I don’t know how busy this semester is going to be, or what, but I’ve been stuck!
So anyway, here’s what I’ve come up with…
1. Paint. I’ve wanted to become a better painter for a while now but it’s always something that gets pushed to the side. I want to try and make sure that I paint at least every week for the rest of the year… it doesn’t matter what it is, just as long as I get started and do it. Getting started is always the hardest part for me.
2. Run. I’m running a 5k in three weeks and hopefully a mini-marathon next May, so I really need to start focusing on increasing my miles! I want to start running at LEAST 3x/week, and run 9 miles at once before the year is done.
3. Interact. This summer I had a little rule for myself, where I wouldn’t say no to anything social. Especially during school it’s very easy for me to say no in order to get work done, hang out alone, or just with my boyfriend, and I really don’t want to fall into that rut this semester. I know I won’t be able to say yes everytime I’m asked to do something social, but I’m going to try as hard as I can to do so! I enjoyed it this summer so I don’t see why I shouldn’t continue.
4. Cook. I want to cook as much as possible this semester and eat out less, and I also want to start compiling a recipe book of recipes I actually know and use. Maybe I’ll post that here once I’ve made it? I want cooking to be a more routine part of my life, so I can eat healthier and save some money.
