I know many of you have probably already seen that Elsie has started a Four Simple Goals challenge, and I am FINALLY jumping on the bandwagon.  I’m always setting goals for myself, but for some reason I’ve had a hard time coming up with these… I don’t know if it’s because they’re public, or because they have to be completed before the new year and I don’t know how busy this semester is going to be, or what, but I’ve been stuck!

So anyway, here’s what I’ve come up with…

1. Paint. I’ve wanted to become a better painter for a while now but it’s always something that gets pushed to the side.  I want to try and make sure that I paint at least every week for the rest of the year… it doesn’t matter what it is, just as long as I get started and do it.  Getting started is always the hardest part for me.

2. Run. I’m running a 5k in three weeks and hopefully a mini-marathon next May, so I really need to start focusing on increasing my miles!  I want to start running at LEAST 3x/week, and run 9 miles at once before the year is done.

3. Interact. This summer I had a little rule for myself, where I wouldn’t say no to anything social.  Especially during school it’s very easy for me to say no in order to get work done, hang out alone, or just with my boyfriend, and I really don’t want to fall into that rut this semester.  I know I won’t be able to say yes everytime I’m asked to do something social, but I’m going to try as hard as I can to do so!  I enjoyed it this summer so I don’t see why I shouldn’t continue.

4. Cook. I want to cook as much as possible this semester and eat out less, and I also want to start compiling a recipe book of recipes I actually know and use.  Maybe I’ll post that here once I’ve made it?  I want cooking to be a more routine part of my life, so I can eat healthier and save some money.

I’m packing up my apartment and driving 13 hours to Connecticut tomorrow, to drop off my boyfriend who will be there for the summer.  I finished up the semester (somehow) and have a couple weeks off before I start teaching art at a summer camp, and playing on the lake and painting murals, etc etc.  So I will be back in full force on Monday!  =)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I don’t have any pictures from the weekend to share yet (I have film to get processed and my boyfriend borrowed my digital for the week cause he’s in Las Vegas!  and it has all my pictures on it) but soon.  Hopefully.  My outfit was slightly ridiculous, so get excited =)

They’re coasters from Curbly.  Adorable.  They kind of make me want to turn into a MAJOR art teacher geek and start wearing paint palette earrings or something.  WHICH EXIST!  I just did a search and found these:

Okay these are COOKIES that you can buy on ETSY.  Is it just me or is it crazy that you can buy cookies on etsy?  She actually has a ton of cute cookies in her shop, if you want to check them out.

Okay, whoa, I’m done with the paint palettes now.  Promise.  (Unless, you know, you find something cool that is paint palette related and want to share =) !)

I have so many ideas and I keep starting each and then not finishing ANY.  So here is a quick post just to say what you can expect soon =)  Pictures of my camera collection (finally, I know) and hopefully a painting this weekend?!  we’ll see on that one, umm… oh yeah and I am planning on working on my hollowed altered book a little bit.  Hopefully.

I’m also really excited about teaching my students to make stamps tomorrow !!  And maybe I will make an ACEO/ATC… okay I might (definitely) be overestimating myself here, since I have a ton of papers to write, but I’m going to try.  Oh yeah and I need to work on a “reflective journal” for an assignment for class and also, you know, clean my room.

And yes, I know, I am adorable  =)  hahaha.  OKAY time to get to work, I hope you all have the most amazing weekend ever, and if you have tons of snow I am REALLY sorry and just remember that it’s almost March which means it’s almost April which means… it’s basically July.  Right?

Happy Valentine’s Day ♥

I love Valentine’s Day.  Not only is it my half birthday (which, I know, is a HUGE deal) (really) but I love looking at all the cute Valentine’s stuff in the grocery stores and Target (my grocery store is HUGE and has a bigger display than Target does… it’s ridiculous.)  I meant to write this long, inspiring post about Valentine’s day and how it’s not just for the couples in the world, but I’m sick as a dog (I have a fever and everything) so maybe I’ll do that next year?  Haha.
