Shaving Cream Painting Tutorial

A couple weeks ago I showed you a few shaving cream paintings that I did, and last week while I was doing the project with my art campers I decided to photograph the process (which I had to do quickly since I had 20 kids anxious & excited for their turn to make their own!)
I [...]

Seahorses!

I LOVE seahorses.  I don’t know why, they’re so weird, I just do.  And I recently found one that I made a couple years ago, soo I thought I would share =)

Do you like it??  It took FOREVER and then I didn’t even end up turning it in (it was for a class) but I [...]

Flower Painting Progress

My flower painting, which I have been working on off & on for a while now, is not so much about flowers anymore (see how it started here.)  Here are a couple more in progress pictures…
And where it is now…
I don’t know.  I’m not sure how I feel about it right now, I’m just kind [...]

Mural!

The big project I mentioned a couple days ago is actually the first commissioned art piece I have ever done (which is very exciting/scary) and it is painting a mural in the bedroom of an adorable little 4-year-old girl.

Weekend Painting

Haha.  I have ideas in mind [...]

Shaving Cream Painting

Have any of you ever painted with shaving cream before?!  It’s a really interesting (and EASY) technique that I heard of recently, and last week I decided to try out.  Within just a few minutes (seriously, like, 5 minutes tops) I made these:
Cool, right??  I thought it would be a fun activity for my art [...]

Talbot Street Art Fair

Today I went to the Talbot Street Art Fair in Indianapolis, and I loved it.  There were over 270 artists there, including photographers, jewelers, painters, metal workers, potters, etc.  I saw so many things that I have never seen before and some simply beautiful and impressive artwork- I will definitely be back again next year!
One [...]

Art Camp

(source)
Lately my life has consisted mostly of hanging out with little kids and organizing, planning, and teaching them art (and then cleaning up their messes!)  I started my summer job as a counselor at an art camp, and so far I lovelovelove it.  The kids are HILARIOUS and they’ve made some really cool things (I [...]

I just wanted to let you all know that I am featured over at Crafty MSP!

MOVE Screen Print & Viewing Art

As I was getting my teacher portfolio ready for a final project for class, I had to go back through my work to find what examples of my art I wanted to include.  I found this screen print from about a year and a half ago or so, and thought I would share it here [...]
